Désirée Ratner, M.D., has more than 23 years of experience, specializing in Mohs micrographic surgery, facial reconstruction, and cutaneous oncology.We provide patient-centric dermatologic surgical care to men and women of all ages. We are located at Manhattan’s Murray Hill neighborhood.
About Dr. Ratner
Désirée Ratner, MD, in New York City provides quality dermatologic surgical care, drawing on her decades of knowledge and expertise to help every patient she treats. She is certified by the American Board of Dermatology. Dr. Ratner has been included in New York Magazine’s Best Doctors list since 2009.
She has served on various boards throughout her career, including the Boards of Directors of the American College of Mohs Surgery and the Association of Academic Dermatologic Surgeons, among others.
Dr. Ratner received her Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from Brown University before going on to earn her Doctor of Medicine from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
From there, she completed an internship in internal medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center-Harvard Medical School and a residency in dermatology at the University of Michigan Medical Center.
Dr. Ratner completed a two year fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery, first at Tufts New England Medical Center and then at Lahey Clinic & Medical Center, both in Boston.
Mohs micrographic surgery is a technique used by specially trained dermatologic surgeons to treat high risk skin cancers.
The 3 most common skin cancer types are basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma.
